The West Los Angeles College football team made history in 2025. And the year isn't over.
On Sunday, West LA was selected to host the Beach Bowl and will face Grossmont College on Saturday, Nov. 22 with kick off set for 1 p.m.
West LA will make its first postseason appearance since 2004. That year, the former West LA "Oilers" competed in the American Bowl at Long Beach City College as part of the Southern California playoffs.
The 2025 West LA squad, under the leadership of second-year head coach Eric Scott, recently closed out the regular season with a 7-3 overall record and finished third in the American Pacific League with a 3-2 mark. The 7-3 record matched the 2011 and 2004 teams.
A win on Saturday over Grossmont would end the Wildcats' season with its best record in over 25 years.
West LA and Grossmont will be meeting for the second time this season. In Week 6, the squads opened Pacific League play in El Cajon with the Wildcats edging the Griffins by a final score of 14-13.
Grossmont enters the Beach Bowl with a 6-4 overall record and went 2-3 in the Pacific League for fourth place.
